I Just Had To Share This With You.
- I can now scratch one thing off my bucket list. I self-published a book called “Stoplights.” It’s been a work in process for over 30 years. It represents some of my thoughts, stories and poems which I wrote while waiting for the “stop n’ go” lights to change as I drove hundreds of thousands of miles over these many years and accumulated pages and pages of “Fredisms”. My kindly editor winnowed it down to about 120 pages which make it a quick read. Whatever money comes from this book, half of it will immediately go to SAY (The Stuttering Association for the Young) which I support passionately. The other half will also go to SAY as part of our annual GALA donations. So if you want to help SAY and have a good read too, you can buy it on Amazon. Please either search “Stoplights” or “Fred Kaplowitz” in the book section. Its $9.87
- I was able to run two miles (slowly) today. This is the most I have done in four years after four spinal fusions and a hip replacement; so maybe I am healing. At the end of the run, all I could do was look up and say “Thank You God for your Blessings.” As family, friends, colleagues and clients, I want to thank all of you who have prayed for me to heal. Your prayers worked! I am feeling better and experiencing less pain. Thank you all so much. And bless you all.
- Having been born and raised in New York, then moved away only to come back, we count over 50 years that we have lived in the NY metro area. And it is now time to say good bye and move to Maryland; to a little town, outside Annapolis, close to Washington DC and Baltimore, that I have always loved: Ellicott City. Little be it known that I once had a store there during a late 70’s summer, where my partner and I sold used blue jeans. It reminds me of Woodstock NY, only warmer. Next weekend is the move date and both Marie and I are excited for this change; the town house we are currently in needed painting anyway and we just weren’t going to do that! My cell phone (516 359 4874) and email: email@example.com will remain the same, but we will give up our land lines. Hey, it’s a new world out there. For all of us.
While we will forever be New Yorkers at heart, we already love our newly adopted Maryland and Ellicott City. Speak with you soon.
