If It Ain’t Broken, Break It And Make It Better

Sometimes we get so good at doing the same thing we don’t stop to think, wonder and try to see if there are other alternatives. You know, the “if it aint broke, don’t fix it syndrome”. Easier to do the same thing again and again, even if we can see the cracks a little more every time the summer season rolls around. 

Then there’s the Fred theory, “If it aint broke, break it and build a better one.” You may not agree with it, but at least please hear me out.

So what are you going to do this summer?

Let me guess. 

First: You’ll build a summer flier, with new offerings, some sexy stuff too; set it up on our website, send out emails and Facebook posts, even Facebook ads, maybe even mix in some instagram and twitter stuff too. Make sure you do lane to lane solicitation at least three or four times during league bowling time and of course on weekends when your open play bowlers are there

Don’t forget to call back all of last year’s summer bowlers, dropouts and send out postcards too. And track it every week. Really put the pedal to the metal and come up 50 bowlers up. That’s probably worth about $7,500 to $10,000 additional income to you over the course of 12 to 14 weeks.

Second, maybe you will stop for a minute, take a deep breath and realize that this time of the year where you can break something and make it better. That’s because it is the best and maybe the only time when you have enough lanes for company parties, open play specials, fund raisers and special events during the key 5:30pm to 7:30 time slot. Just think, if in addition to your league bowling effort, you maximized these kinds of opportunities and built $500 a week in incremental income from May thru August; that would be additional $10,000 revenue

Third, if you haven’t broken the “I’m not giving it away” syndrome, it’s time to break that too and catch up on the newest evolution of the KIDS BOWL FREE MARKETING SYSTEM. We’re offering a chance for a number of elementary schools across the country to win grants. We’ll be giving away $50,000 in school grants this year and we’re going to market to 92,000 Parent Group Leaders to nominate their school for a $1,000 grant. That should help you get into the schools!!
